Current RoleSoftware developer for the Python Atmospheric Radiation Measurement Radar Toolkit (Py-ART) and developer for a variety of other open-source software packages for the Atmospheric Radiation Measurement (ARM) program and other EVS programs.
CapabilitiesSoftware development using Python and shell scripts; creation of open source code; version control and continuous integration; scientific computing; data storage and processing using high-performance computing.
- Student Undergraduate Laboratory Internship: Ran simulations of storm cell tracking in EVS’s Data Informatics and Geophysical Retrievals (DIGR) Department using TINT and Py-ART to predict the timing and location storm cells.
- Student Research Participant: As part of the ARM program, studied radar retrieval methods to enhance existing Python code that creates a Velocity Azimuth Display (VAD) and a Quasi Vertical Profile (QVP) from radar.
- Argonne Associate: Continued work on both VAD and QVP to create a Python package to be used within the ARM program. Assisted in converting the Individual-Based Stream Trout Research and Environmental Assessment Model (inSTREAM) from Object C to Python.
